Learning and support

Learning

At our school, we teach the  NSW curriculum  and offer many different subjects to support each student’s learning. We know that development of skills in literacy and numeracy are the building blocks for learning and for everyday life. Our teachers use effective teaching strategies to help students achieve their goals.

Wellbeing

At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.

How we support student wellbeing

Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.

We do this through:

  • teachers who help students feel welcome and included
  • programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
  • support for students who are new to the school
  • clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
  • staff who get to know each child and work with families
  • developing personalised learning and support plans for students
  • open communication about wellbeing and support.

Additional learning support

Some students need extra support to feel confident and do their best at school. We work with families to make a plan that suits each child's needs.

These support plans can include:

  • teachers and support staff working together with families (and students, if needed)
  • regular check-ins to review and update plans
  • changes to learning activities for students with additional needs.

We know when a student needs help when:

  • teachers notice changes in learning and behaviour
  • reviewing assessment results and learning progress
  • parents and carers raise concerns or ask for support.

If you think your child may need extra help, please speak with their teacher or contact our school office.
